MEDICAL ALARMS
In response to requests from a number of Cape Medical Response members, CMR offer a selection of medical alarm options that are designed to provide members (and/or their loved ones) with the peace of mind of being able to contact CMR for any emergency medical assistance at any time at the push of a button!
THE TELECARE SYSTEM
A world-class telephone-based medical alarm system that allows you to
- Activate the alarm from anywhere in your home or property (up to 200m)
- Communicate “hands free” via the unit (both talk and listen)
Pre-program 3 telephone numbers into the unit (which are activated by pushing the red, yellow or blue buttons).

This attractive, easy-to-use product is proven by over 3 million users in Europe, and will provide you with the easiest access to emergency assistance - even if you are immobile. Perfect for senior citizens; the infirm; and those who live alone or with small children.
TeleCare has a number of sophisticated optional extras that include environmental alarms (smoke, gas, and water detection), a fall detector (worn on the wrist), and a watch that can be used to trigger the alarm, even when the wearer is outdoors.
The TeleCare unit can be purchased outright (including full installation), or rented. A monthly monitoring fee is payable in addition to CMR membership.
THE MED-ALERTZ SYSTEM
A highly affordable VHF radio-based medical alarm system that:
- Is activated by pressing a simple remote control or fixed “panic” button(both supplied.
- Will function even when the telephone networks (fixed or cellphone) are not functioning.
- Is battery powered with a built-in 220v mains charger, and installed out of sight.
Sends an immediate message to a control room - who in turn immediately contact CMR.
The basic Med-Alertz system can also be expanded to include: Advising family members or loved-ones by cellphone in the event of any emergency activation signals. Providing a daily “check-in” service for infirm or aged members. Non-medical options include linking the alarm system to an exterior warning light; alarm- or door-opening-monitoring; or even getting an armed response service to check on any potential security-emergency on a cost-per-call-out basis.
A monthly monitoring fee is payable in addition to CMR membership.
THE BELLEN PHONE
A unique cellphone designed to provide a number of emergency communication shortcuts. Ideal for those who are hard of hearing and/or short sighted. The phone features:
- Unique nerve-conduction sound enhancement that transmits sound through the bones of the head directly to the auditory nerve.
- Standard cellphone functions, but with large numbers and large keys
- Three one-touch fast-dial keys
- SOS button on back for emergencies
Built in torch and FM radio.
KEY SAFES
Access to a home is usually difficult or impossible for those arriving to provide medical assistance when the person within the house is alone and/or unable to let in the paramedic/s.
For this reason, an exterior key safe is a vital addition to any well designed emergency/medical system.
This small and extremely robust key safe can be quickly and easily installed on an outside wall, and it’s large enough to hold a set of house keys. For security reasons, the combination lock can be quickly changed whenever you desire.
